North Georgia Camellia Society Events

We gather regularly at Bellmere Gardens and other locations depending on the program. Please check the Calendar for the latest meeting information and upcoming events. In addition to our regular meetings, we have a number of annual events throughout the year:

Day HallFebruary: Our Annual Camellia Exhibit is held in February in Day Hall at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. This show is open to anyone with Camellia blooms. We especially welcome local Camellia lovers. If you’ve never exhibited before volunteers will help you prepare your blooms for entry. For more info click here.

March: Air Layer Swap. This is the opportune time to start propagating by air layering. Members share their gardens by allowing others to put air layers on their plants. We also partner with local gardens such as: Smith Gilbert, Cator Woolford and Woodlands Gardens for air layering. NGCS supplies the necessary materials.Events (4)

May/June: Annual Picnic.

Members and Guests are invited to bring cuttings of their favorite varieties to a gathering for sharing them with others. This event usually features a short demonstration for those who are not familiar with this technique. NGCS supplies the necessary materials.

September: Camellia Harvest: The air layers you started in March should be ready to harvest now.
